Cherrie Lynn- Rock Me

Rock Me: Brian Ross and Candace Andrews
Summary:
Candace has always been sheltered and over protected by her parents and friends alike. She feels like she has never done anything for herself. On her birthday she decides in an act of rebellion to get a tattoo and she knows just who to see; her cousin’s ex-boyfriend who is the best tattoo artist in the city. Brian has always been the black sheep of the family, he comes from an affluent family. His brother is a lawyer and his sister a med student and he was always in and out of trouble growing up. Finally he found his niche when at 18 he walked into a tattoo parlor. He knew at once that he found home and his purpose. Now almost 10 years later he owns his own successful tattoo shop and he is the premier tattoo artist in the city. When Candace walks into his shop he is shocked he hadn’t seen her since him and her cousin had parted ways but he never forgot Candace and has missed her. Giving Candace a tattoo gives him the excuse he always wanted to touch her silky skin. Candace has never forgotten Brian, she has missed him, with him she could be herself, he never coddled or overprotected her in fact he always seemed the opposite, the only one willing to show her new things. After the tattoo they exchange numbers but both are afraid to use the number, until they run into each other. From there a romance blossoms, but it can never be, Candace’s family would never let her be with him and she doesn’t know if she has the courage to defy them and take the one thing she wants.
Review:
I LOVED LOVED LOVED Brain! There is just something about a sexy, tall, dark haired, blue eyed with dimples, tatted up, tattoo artist! He definitely has alpha male tendencies, but also has a sensitive side in that he is willing to do whatever he can to make Candace happy. Got to love a man devoted to his woman! His character is one that sticks with you long after you have finished the book. Now, on the other hand there is Candace. I really had a hard time relating to her. I just don’t come from a background like hers, my parents never wrapped me in a cocoon. I always made my own decisions, was highly independent, and made my own way through life. I just had a hard time with a 23 year old woman, that didn’t know who she was and let her parents control her entire life. She really was a sweet character and I did like her, I just couldn’t really relate, she was so wishy washy. Also, it really peeved me when Brains shop got tossed and everyone was killing themselves to put everything back together, but she didn’t help at all, and just disappeared. That being said I still loved the book, I was sucked in and it didn’t let me go until the end. I even a week or two later after finishing the book I am still thinking about this book! I highly recommend it! The only reason this is getting a 4 rating star rather than a 5 is my inability to truly relate to Candace.
**This is not actually Paranormal, but it has definite crossover appeal to the Paranormal reader.
