Review: Karin Tabke - Blood Law

Blood Moon Trilogy:
Book 1:
Blood Law: Rafael and Falon Corbet

The coming of the Blood Moon will lead two Lycan packs into war, spur two rival brothers into conflict, and spark an act of vengeance so evil that its effects will be felt for generations.
One woman stands at the center of it all…
Summary:
There is a blood feud between the wolves and the Slayer’s going back a thousand years. The Slayers brought the wolves near extinction from their hatred, close to 300 years ago the gods took pity on the wolves and decided that if they had any chance of surviving they would have to adapt and take human form.
14 years ago:
After a brutal slaying of their parents Rafael and Lucien are the Alpha’s of their powerful North American Pack. Rafael came home from a spiritual quest to find his brother about to take a Slayer as his. Rafael could not let his brother take a slayer as his mate whether his brother knows she is a Slayer or not. Rafael takes matters into his own hands and kills his brothers’ mate. In anguish Lucien challenges his brother, the two are on the verge of death when the gods decide to interfere again, cursing the brothers but giving them back their lives, if they obey the Blood Law.
Current Day:
Falon is not just having a bad day; she is having a bad life. She is an orphan that only knows that she has special powers that make it difficult to blend in with society let alone keep a job. She has no idea what she is, but knows she isn’t entirely human. One night she enters a convenience store and her life is irrevocably changed. The night that everything changed some Conan the Barbarian type of man attacked her saying he had been looking for her for years, but she has no idea who or what he is. While trying to get away with her life a gorgeous blond comes in and kills off Conan. When Falon regains consciousness her many life threatening injuries are gone and there is a large golden wolf beside her in a strange bed. Rafael is inexplicably drawn to the human woman, he doesn’t know who she is, but he knows somehow she is important. Passions between Rafael and Falon ignite and Rafael knows that he will claim this intriguing human as his, but will he be able to honor the Blood Law?
Review:
I am so pissed I have to wait until February of 2010 for the next book in this series!  This book leaves you on the cliffhanger of all cliffhangers!! Ok, that being said, I really enjoyed this book. It was non-stop, the chemistry between Rafael and Falon, the tension between Rafael, Lucien and Falon, the action with the Slayers, the history. There was never a dull moment with this book. It kept going from beginning to end. I really enjoyed Falon, she is a survivor! I always have a lot of respect for the strong alpha type females who do what they have to do to survive; she is who she is because of the trails she has had to face. Rafael is your quintessential Alpha male, he is used to being in charge and what he says goes. He has had to make some hard decisions for the good of his pack, even at the detriment of his relationship with his twin brother. For 14 years his brother has been waiting to enforce the Blood Law and now that it is upon them, Rafael knows he will not be able to give Lucien what he is owed by law. Rafael will die first!
