Question:
Worst cover? What is the worst cover of a book that you’ve read and loved?
Answer:

I have seen a lot of bad covers out there, which saddens me. I have an intense dislike of bad covers, I’m of the school of thought of why would you spend months and months of your life pouring your heart and soul into writing a piece of work and then just covering it in inferior work. Don’t you want the outside to be just as good as the inside?

I have however learned to look past a bad cover and there have been many cases that I am glad that I did. I’ll not include any self published covers in my assessment as they are notoriously not great. So the big publisher cover that sticks out the most in my memory is Christine Feehan’s – Water Bound.  I absolutely HATE this cover! If it hadn’t featured a Pranskii brother there is no way I would have picked this book up in the first place. Thankfully the book is not as bad as this cover, it is actually really good.

So here it is!

Is this a bad cover or is it just me?

While you are here check out my best of 2012 so far post just below this post!

  4. It's not the most innovative cover design, lol. Glad to hear that the book was good, though.

  6. I haven't read any Christine Feehan books but I would definitely not pick them based on their covers.

  7. Thanks for stopping by my blog! Returning the favour. :)

I agree with you on this one...I am one of those people that need to read a series in order. When Spirit Bound came out, I loved the cover, and decided to give the series a try. But when I saw the cover for Water Bound, the cheesy cover kind of threw me off and I didn't buy the books. Shame, I still want to read them. One day.

    1. I'd start with the Drake Sisters series first if you haven't read that series. This one is a spin off of that one. The British cover of this book is actually a lot better, wish they would switch this cover up with that one.

  9. Hi, new follower through GFC as lucyatmax, no pic. Please visit/follow me at bethartfromtheheart.blogspot.com . My response was...the Stephanie Plum series covers. I truly love the books, but could do without the colorful jackets. Course, since I own every book in the series and I love them all, the jackets are acceptable by associated love for the books.
    Have a great weekend!

  10. Oh, wow. Totally have to agree with you on that cover being bad, it looks like they're stranded in the middle of the ocean during a storm, fully clothed, and not worried about it at all. It's a shame when good books have bad covers because that's what draws a lot of people in. Thanks for sharing, I'm a new follower :)
