Review: Snow Falling on Bluegrass by Molly Harper

Snow Falling on Bluegrass

Snow Falling on Bluegrass (Bluegrass, #3)

Summary:
From Goodreads.com
Parks & Recreation meets The Blue Collar Comedy Tour in this third ebook in Molly Harper’s Bluegrass series of contemporary romances: A love triangle of colleagues heats up the winter lodge where they get snowed in for a week.

Kentucky Tourism Commission employee and executive assistant extraordinaire Kelsey is known around the office for having everything under control. So it’s not surprising that she and her boss, Sadie, have everything planned to the second for the office winter retreat. But there are things even Kelsey can’t micromanage.

An unprecedented snowstorm smothers half of Kentucky and knocks out the power, closes the roads, and generally shuts down the state. Luckily, the lodge has working fireplaces and enough food to keep the staff from turning on each other like something out of The Shining. Kelsey wouldn’t mind being stuck inside if it wasn’t for the tension with her not-so-secret crush, Charlie, the office’s statistician. But handsome Ranger Luke, the lodge’s only employee on hand, is there to take Kelsey’s mind off her discomfort.

Even though this weekend is supposed to be a planning session for KTC, Kelsey can’t help her mind from wandering and finds herself conflicted over Luke and Charlie. Someone’s love will keep her warm, but whose will it be?

Review:
I heart Molly Harper; she just has such a wonderful sense of humor that rarely disappoints. Her characters are always quirky and have such fun misadventures and this theme continues in this book. Kelsey didn’t answer her phone because she was avoiding her loser ex-boyfriend so she missed the call telling her to stay away from their weekend retreat because it’s about to get hit with the worst snow storm to hit Kentucky in years. So they get there and are greeted by the handsome Ranger Luke who lets them stay even though the electricity almost immediately goes out and temperatures plummet.

Almost immediately the flirting between Luke and Kelsey starts. She’s been pining for Charlie for years but has given up on anything ever happening with him, so when handsome Luke shows interest she doesn’t turn away. I have to admit I was kind of rooting for Luke, even though Kelsey has been pining for Charlie for the past two books I like a more assertive man and Charlie hasn’t been all that assertive over the years but he does have a handsome geek thing going on too which is has a certain appeal. Decisions, decisions, what is a girl to do?? I’m not going to tell you who she picks, you’ll need to read to find out which is no hardship as the story is fun and carries you through pretty quickly. There’s an attack by a vicious animal, back stabbing co-workers, fights, make-ups and of course a love triangle. All the elements for a highly entertaining book are there.  So give it a try what are you waiting for? While you’re at it check out the rest of the series.
