Review: Jeaniene Frost - Halfway to the Grave

Night Huntress Novel:

Book 1:
Halfway to the Grave: Catherine Crawfield/ Cat and Bones

Summary:
Cat shouldn’t exist; she is a rare half breed. Half Vampire and Half Human, and all freak of nature. Her entire life she knew there was something different about herself, stronger, faster, glowing eyes, pale skin, but she didn’t know why until she was 16. That is when her mother told her she was raped by a vampire and 5 months later Cat was born. Since Cat found out she was half vampire she has been slaying any vampire she could get her hands on. She has always come out the victor, until Bones. Bones knows Cat is killing vampires but what he wants to know is who she is working for. He allows Cat to lure him out of the club and gets one up on her. When he finds out her secret that she is half vampire he realizes he can use her to his advantage, as he is tracking a vampire that is stealing young girls and selling them and he need bait that can handle themselves in a fight and he can’t use a vampire. As Bones and cat get closer to the culprit things get more and more intense and its likely they won’t be walking away from this job.

Review:
So yes, I succumbed to peer pressure and jumped on the Night Huntress band wagon and man am I glad I did! People were not exaggerating about how good it is. I know I’m only on the first book but it takes off running! It is go go go from the beginning and doesn’t let up. The characters are intense and dark and you will fall in love instantly. Bones will have you sigh with pleasure within minutes, a little scary and a whole lot of man with a delicious accent to boot. This series is technically not a romance and under the Urban Fantasy category but worry not my romantic friends there is a little something something, to keep you going. =)  Pick up this series you will not be disappointed you will fly right through this book and onto the next. That’s where I’m heading now, back to the books!

  1. I read this one about a month ago because I had heard nothing but good things about it. I haven't read book two yet but like you I'm dying to read it.
    Great review :)

  2. I started reading these when there was only one book in a series and thought I was completely alone for the while (I blame it on me being in Sweden, lol.) Anyhow, I've loved every single book so far from page one. And don't get me started on how many times I've managed to re-read them! Lol. What? I love my Bones... ;)
